Difference Between Sandblasted and Routed Signs Sandblasted sign making involves masking the signs text, logo, and or designs. We then use a sandblaster to remove the material which gives the signs a very distinct look of heavy grain and texture. We can sandblast to give a wooden grain look or a rough or smooth sand texture look. Routed signs have a smooth clean background around border, text and any logo or design.
